Hi everyone! I'm looking forward to being able to be apart of the book club this year! My favorite thing about summer is that it gives me time to focus on, and spend time with friends and family. I also love that it is a more laid back time to reflect on the past school year, and think of things I would like to do differently for the following school year.
ReplyDeletePLA@103
Hi Kayla,
DeleteI agree... more time to spend with friends and family and more time to reflect and prepare!
Hello everyone. This is going to be a first for me, first book club that is. I am looking forward to this.

Hello! I am excited to be involved in another book club! I learned a lot last year that I took into my classroom, and I can't wait to do it again! One of my favorite things about summer is being able to have quality time with my family, dog, and cat! Also I love to craft so I have more time for that! :)
ReplyDeleteGood evening, everyone! This is my first year to be a part of PLA's book club, but I have participated in others in the past. I enjoy discussing books with others, and I am really anticipating all the information I am going to glean from this experience!
ReplyDeleteThis is my first year with PLA@103. I started in January. I’m excited for the book club because I get to collaborate with fellow teachers. I love summer because I get to spend time with my family and I’m more relaxed. I love sitting on my porch and reading!!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy summer because I can spend more time outdoors & with family & friends! I enjoyed last year's book club & look forward to all the helpful insights! Janine Shafer PLA103
ReplyDeleteI enjoy summer because I can work at my pace. Patios and coffee go well together in the early mornings. Dog walking before the day gets to warm is good for both of us (me and the dog!) and it is easier to find a beach in the summer...which I can do often!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy reading for one of my hoobie's, This will be a first summer book club that I can collaborate with my co-workers.
ReplyDeleteLeshun Horne PLA@JonesClark
ReplyDeleteGood evening! This is my first book club, I joined last summer but never got a chance to order book and get started. So I am eager to get started reading this book. My favorite summer activities do not change from the regular months' activities. However sitting outside on a summer day under some shade with a book is something I love to do in my spare time.
ReplyDeleteClarissa Price PLA@Jones Clark
Good evening. This is my first blog to particiate in. My collaeague, A. Caison have been collaborating about the first post. We discussed scheduling, hand signals, (1 finger for help, 2 fingers for tissue, 3 for restroom) student jobs, free station choices on Fridays for given scholars more power. We both agreed to try free choice seating the next school year. I would even eliminate hand signals for tissue and restroom, allows students to go as needed.
ReplyDeletePLA@Jones-Clark Elementary
ReplyDeleteGood Evening, As many of you this is my first blog and teaching book club. I like what I have read so far in the book. I love summer and I easily get lost in my garden...:) Luckily, I found a spot under a tree where I will be reading, blogging and planning for the next school year.
ReplyDeleteBetty Salgado JRPLA
This is my first time in the book club! I agree that the classroom should have some rules. In the past I have worked with the class to come up with rules that we can all agree with. I don't necessarily agree that teachers shouldn't do cold calling. I think there students who tend to not be as comfortable as others to participate.
ReplyDeleteGale Reed
DeleteThis is my first book club. I love reading and teaching so hopefully I will get a lot out of this. Looking forward to hearing from everyone.
ReplyDeleteJust got the book and finished 1st chapter. Great read so far. Summer fun for me is working on the house (redoing some rooms), playing with my grandbabies, and reading. Unfortunately, can't hug the grands, because as my 3 yr old grandson points out, "You can't hug me because of the coronavirus." April Heslar PLA93
ReplyDeleteHi, everyone! I am super excited to be reading this book with all of you; I absolutely love being a part of book clubs! If you all have any tips/advice for a first year teacher, please let me know! I am excited to get to know you all more and for our discussions!
